Serra da Ibiapaba is for those who love adventure. There are nine municipalities that make up this green world: one of them is the famous Ubajara, home to the Ubajara National Park, the first to be created in the state. Tianguá, another municipality in the region, is considered the capital of Serra da Ibiapaba, and is now home to more than 350,000 people.

One of the inhabitants of this oasis in the middle of the sertão (hinterlands) is paragliding pilot Rogério Monguba. "I arrived in Tianguá in 2009 and stayed. Bosco’s idea was to develop paragliding here, and we succeeded," celebrates Rogério. The "Bosco" he refers to is João Bosco, owner of Sítio do Bosco. "After finishing my career and retiring in Viçosa, I decided to work in tourism and start the sítio. I’ve always loved reading and saw the tourism potential here. Deep down, I believed in it. And reading those books about future trends, I came to the conclusion that it was a good business," Bosco recalls. For him, tourism here couldn't go wrong. "Up here in these mountains, we are living in an oasis in the middle of the desert; the climate is great, the vegetation is beautiful," he exclaims.

On May 16 and 17, 2026, Sítio do Bosco will host the Ceará Paragliding Cup. "This is only the first stop, but we plan to hold two more this year, in Pacatuba and Quixadá," reveals pilot Roger Messala, president of the Jamil Sales Ramp in Serra da Aratanha, Pacatuba.
