The 2026 Ceará Surfing Circuit begins next Friday, May 29th, at Taíba Beach, in São Gonçalo do Amarante. The competition runs until Sunday, May 31st, and also features longboard athletes.
Itim has been a professional surfer for 24 years and teaches the sport at the Itim Silva Surf School
The professional surfer from Ceará, Itim Silva, is one of the confirmed competitors for the Taíba stage. "My daughter and I will be in the first stop; she will be competing in the open and professional categories and I will be in the professional one." Rilary Silva is only 15 years old and is the Ceará state champion in both the under-18 and open categories.
Amélio belongs to the first generation of surfing in Ceará and has been working for the sport for decades
According to Amélio Júnior, president of the Ceará Surfing Federation, two more stops have already been confirmed. "In October, the Circuit arrives in Fortaleza at Praia do Futuro, and in December at Praia de Iracema," Amélio concludes.
