The Capital Downwind returns for its 8th edition in 2026 and has already surpassed 200 registrations across the sailing and paddling categories. To secure your spot in the event, you must register by Friday, July 25.
Paddlers and sailors meet in the capital's waters and head together to Cumbuco
In the paddling division, athletes will compete in five categories: SUP, surfski, V1, OC2, and V3. In sailing, competitors will take part in the wingfoil and kitesurf disciplines, including the kitefoil, wave, and twintip categories. This great gathering takes place on Saturday, 08/01.

According to Galdino Malandrino, sailors will start from P5 at Praia do Futuro, while paddlers will depart from Kayakeria on Beira-Mar Avenue. "The plan is for both groups to meet offshore in Fortaleza and continue together to Cumbuco", explains the steersman, the paddler responsible for steering the canoe. The meeting at sea is expected to take place around 11:00 a.m., although the schedule may change depending on wind conditions.
