More than 166 athletes from seven Brazilian states and three countries have gathered for the fifth edition of GKC Velas Trairi. Among them, Ceará's Artur Santos stood out in his division by earning the highest score of the day: 15.77. According to Kalu de Sousa, Technical Director of the Brazilian Kitesurf Association (ABK), the final score is calculated by adding the athlete's two best wave scores and dividing the total by two.
The festival also features traditional jangada sailing races
In the TT Race category, where the fastest competitor wins the regatta, the top performers were Gerlano Torres (Ceará) and Cristielly Silva, from Projeto Vivo in the state of Piauí.

In the Wingfoil Race, Benjamim Almeida won all three races held during the day. The 13-year-old athlete from Búzios, Rio de Janeiro, is competing in the event for the second consecutive year. After a strong performance at the 2025 GKC Velas Trairi, Ben is considered one of the favorites for this year's title. The competition continues through Saturday, June 27.
